Off-Kilter? Reboot

Have you ever had a moment of awakening amid chaotic spiralling? It's like realising in the middle of a dream when everything is off-kilter that you're just dreaming, and if you choose to do so, you can wake yourself and be back in the present moment. It's like an out-of-body experience. Sis, it's that moment you quite calmly realise that you're spiralling and that something must give. It's an empowering moment because you also acknowledge that you can determine whether you will continue the spiral or are ready to get off the crazy cycle and bring balance back into your world.

The question is, how do you restore the balance?

Here's how to reboot and find balance again:

1. Stop: Acknowledge the spiral and when you do, breath work will help you through that moment of acknowledgement.

2. Identify Your Triggers: Ask yourself what caused the spiral and why you're here. We promise the answer will reveal itself.

3. Own the Power to Choose: You can continue the spiral or choose balance. Take control and actively bring it back.

Reboot

  • Ground Yourself: This is where mindful practices that may seem trivial prove their value. Meditation, Prayer or spending time in nature to reduce anxiety and centre yourself are excellent grounding practices.

  • Self-Care and Repair: What feels nourishing to you? What makes you feel good? Is it that massage or warm, tension-easing bath?

  • Reconnect: There's a beautiful Chinese proverb: "Joy shared is doubled; grief shared is halved!" Sharing your burden can bring perspective and relief.

  • Calming Routine: Dust off that journal and pick up where you left off with your gratitude practices. Do some gentle stretches and breathing before bed. These routines alert your mind and body that it's downtime.

  • Set Boundaries: Say "No."

Striking a balance is a life-long journey that we'll never perfect, but we can be equipped to grow better at it. You can reboot and bring balance back into your world. You've got this, Sis!
