Our fav Booktok recommendations
Casually browsing through Exclusive Books, I was stunned by a sign that read, "TikTok made me read it." Could the age of influence have reached beyond our screens, turning the very pages of books we love to lose ourselves in? Well, yes, yes, it has and sis, we are here for it!
Here are some recommended reads that are set to take you on adventures, ensure you're lost in magic and nourish your soul.
The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods
This is a remarkable read that effortlessly combines fiction with historical information. It has a bit of Maeve Binchy magic, highlighting that we are more connected to one another than we think. It's a sumptuous indulgence that whisks you away to a fantasy land, to the age of book dealers and treasure hunters (that you wish was real) every time you read it.
You can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
Louise Hay is often revered as the "mother" of self-love! With more than 50 million books in print, she has helped millions for over 40 years. She fuses science, psychology and spirituality, understanding the gift of self-love and how liberating and transformational it is. With profound insight, Louise teaches the power of awareness, trauma work and releasing trauma from the body because, as we have learned, the body keeps the score. Her book is practical and insightful and will be a life-long reference as you go through life.
Woman Evolve by Sarah Jakes Roberts
This one is personal for us girls. It certainly makes our #booktok recommendation. In 2022, the ladies of LDH got stuck into this deeply personal book that will reframe the mistakes of your life to use them to become the Woman of God you were destined to be. Your life doesn't need to pause because you’ve made mistakes. That is not the only choice you have. What we loved about this read, in particular, is the deep connection you feel to the author, to God and within almost immediately. She connects us back to Eve, and there is a profound empathy that one feels for her, an empathy that extends to self and the women around us.
